Charles E. Volk, SRA

Founder & Lead Appraiser

Charles has been appraising residential real estate in the Denver Metro and Boulder County markets since 2001. He holds the SRA (Senior Residential Appraiser) designation from the Appraisal Institute. It is one of the most rigorous credentials in residential valuation, requiring demonstrated experience, peer-reviewed work product, and ongoing education.

His practice focuses on estate and date-of-death appraisals for attorneys and executors, property tax appeal appraisals, divorce and legal proceedings, and conventional lending work for community banks and credit unions. Charles works directly with clients, no intermediary. When you hire VolkHaus, you know who is doing the work.

Colin O’Connor

Lead Certified Residential Appraiser

Colin began his appraisal training under Charles’s direct mentorship in 2015, completing his apprenticeship and earning his Certified Residential license in 2019. He is trained in all three approaches to value (sales comparison, cost, and income) and handles a full range of residential assignments across the Denver Metro market.

Before entering real estate, Colin worked as a Financial Representative at TD Ameritrade, where he developed the analytical and client-service skills he brings to every appraisal. His attention to detail, thorough documentation, and consistent turnaround make him an integral part of the VolkHaus operation. Clients who work with Colin get the same standard of quality and defensibility that defines VolkHaus.
